This article aims to identify the amount of time spent by phd student in the preparation of his research thesis, Through a range of personal variables, As well as a set of factors that the researcher considers to be essential in scientific research as: Research thesis, scientific article, conferences, teaching, as well as time spent on personal and family tasks.

A number of results have been reached: That most students believe that the time required to complete the doctoral thesis is four years by 42.41% , Which is normal, especially that the decision requires that the student is the third year after the discussion in the sense of entering the fourth year.
