Abstract EN

In the present study, a three dimensional simulations of the single phase laminar flow and forced convection heat transfer of water in the five layers of microchannel heat sink with both arrangement radial and a parallel divergence channel have been studied numerically.

The thermal characteristics and pressure drop of the heat sink were investigated for same mass flow rate (3∙925 × 10-4 kg/s) and constant heat flux (90 W/cm2).

The results obtained show that, using of the radial microchannel led to improve both the hydrodynamic and thermal performance of heat sink.

It led to reduce the pressure drop by 32.5 % and increase the performance index about 1.5 compared with the parallel divergence microchannel heat sink also it gives better temperature uniformity.
