The current research aims at identifying both political participation and orientation toward social power among university students, identifying the differences between males and females in both political participation and orientation toward social power, identifying the relation between political participation and orientation toward social power among university students, identifying the differences in orientation toward social power in accordance with political participation levels.

The researchers have developed political participation scale and orientation toward social power scale and computed the psychometric characteristics of both scales.

The results indicated that university students have low level of political participation and high level of orientation toward social power.

The research also indicated that there are significant differences between male and female students in both political participation and orientation toward social power in favor of male students, There is also weak relation between the two main variables of this research.

There are also significant differences in the three levels of political participation (high, medium, low) in accordance with orientation toward power with favor of high group.

In the light of these results the researchers presented several suggestions and recommendations.
