This research aims to study the role of marketing sports events in the reinforcement of the economic and social development, and the impact it has through hosting all kinds of these sports events as it is considered as one of the means that contributes in the advancement of the economic and social development of the host country The main focus of this study will be to define the promotion of sports events which is one of the methods of sports marketing and to define the economic and social development and their indicators To solve the research problem, the 2010 FIFA world cup South africa was taken as a sample to know the impact of marketing sports events on the reinforcement of social and economic development and to get some results and recommendations that serves the aim of the study
