Abstract EN

This article is mainly a comparion between the treatment and the position of two newspapers on the bloody events that shook Constantine in 1934.the first paper named “ENNADJAH” was led by Abed El Hafidh El Hachemi; whereas the second was named “EL OUMMA” and was led by Echeick Ibrahim Abu El Yakdhane.

“ENNADJAH” was a daily paper which could easily gather all the information on the events because it had considerable human and materialistic resources.

That paper had a neutral position towards colonialism and its ideological line was not against the colonial one.

That position made it possible for the paper to get information from the sources at that time.

That position made the paper involved into the events and it sided the colonial administration, and it did not show the minimum of sympathy with the Algerian Muslims who were the victims of the events.

“EL OUMMA” paper however was extremely against the colonial administration and the extremist Jewish community who was the source of the cuteness which hit the city.

“EL OUMMA” newspaper showed its sympathy with the Algerian Muslims victims of those bloody events.
