Abstract EN

The levels of criticism of the ruling authority during the Islamic middle age rangei between implicit and explicit criticism, and sometimes reached the level of the declaration of rebellion and revolution on it.

Moreover, the cynical criticism was one of the protests that some took to express their attitude towards the rulers’ policy and some of their decisions , which were sometimes unfair against the parish.

Ahmad Ibn Yahya, who lived during the 6th century AH 12th century CE, was one of the few scholars who well used this kind of criticism towards the rulers of Bani Abd al-Mumin.

He managed to practice his political cynicism on them, exploiting his scientific, creative and cynical abilities and his political courage as well.

The search revealed the effect of the cynical criticism on the political reality of Almohads and its ability to change it.

Especially, if it came from a great scholar like Al-Abdari , who mastered this art and sacrificed his privileges in order to reform the ruling regime, according to his own view.

However, the ruling authority’s fear of Al- Abdari’s criticism and its awareness of the danger he represented in fueling and inciting the public and the elite on them led to punish and put him down, which reflects the closed nature of Almohads system.
