Abstract EN

The study aimed to explore the concept and the types of ports services; as well as identifying and comparing the cost of port services at Port Sudan, Jeddah, and Dubai International Ports in order to determine the cost of the container as part of port services at these ports.

The study adopted the descriptive analytical method.

The study main findings indicated that Port Sudan port is considered the highest port regarding the marine services level in comparison with the other two ports, thus increasing the maritime transport costs at Port Sudan port.

Moreover, the cost of the services provided to commodities has a tendency to increase at Port Sudan port in comparison with the other two ports.

The study calls for the need to review the tariff structure at the Port Sudan port to become more flexible and clearer through dividing cost into fixed and variable ones.

Furthermore, the need to review Cleat wages since it represents a large proportion of marine services costs.
