This study aims to examine the long-run relationship between real FDI inflows and real economic growth in Algeria by using the annual time-series from 1996 to 2017.
We apply the Bound testing (ARDL) approach to cointegration, Error correction model (ECM) and Granger causality.
Results show the existence of a significant positive long-run relationship between variables at a significance level of 1%.
Further, the Granger causality test indicates that there is a significant positive unidirectional from real GDP to real FDI inflows in short-run.
Labor, capital, total government consumption, total household consumption, total local saving, and real FDI inflows combined to cause the economic growth in Algeria a long-term.
