This study aims at identifying the role of the linguistic educational initiatives in improving the professional growth of Arabic language teachers in educational directorates of Irbid governorate (from the point of view of the school principals and educational supervisors).
The study population consisted of (118) principals and educational supervisors.
The study tools consisted of (41) points divided into four areas: knowledge and understanding, methods and approaches of teaching, students and classroom, colleagues and society after verifying their validity and stability.
The study showed that the professional growth of the Arabic language teachers rated medium in the four areas of the tool as a whole.
The arithmetic mean of the on all tool areas was ) 3.44(, with a standard deviation of (0.64(.
According to these results, educational initiatives have a role in improving professional growth Arabic teachers in educational directorates of Irbid Governorate, where students and classroom came in the first place, followed by the field of knowledge and understanding, rating the second, and the field of colleagues and society came in the third place, while the field of teaching methods came in the last rank.
The results of the study also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the responses of the sample of the study to the role of the educational initiatives in improving the professional growth of the teachers of the Arabic language due to the variable of job status and the benefit of school principals.
In the improvement of the professional growth of teachers of Arabic language attributed to the variable years of experience in the field (methods and approaches of teaching, colleagues and society), and the absence of differences of statistical significance attributed to the gender variable and the variable of Directorate.
In light of the results of the study, the researcher recommends benefiting from the linguistic educational initiatives launched by some Arab countries in the implementation of initiatives interested in the Arabic language, and the preparation of the Arabic language teacher effectively in light of the challenges of the age
