Abstract This study aimed to identify the degree unit of employ ICT in higher education from the point of view of the faculty members at Taiz University, as well as exploring whether or not there was a difference in the views of faculty members at Taiz University in these obstacles attributed to specialization and scientific degree variables.

To achieve these goals, the researcher developed a questionnaire to collect data consisted of 22 phrases addressed to a sample of faculty members at Taiz, University after making sure of the validity and reliability of the tools using known methods.

The study findings showed that all statements contained study tool represent major obstacles facing faculty members at Taiz University, and prevent recruitment of ICT in higher education, which requires speed processing to ensure the quality of university education.

The results, too, indicated that the degree of severity of these obstacles which are general was "high", and there were no statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) between arithmetic means to the degree unit obstacles employ ICT in higher education from the point of view of faculty members according to variables of specialization and scientific degree or to interaction among them.

In light of these findings, the researcher put forward a number of recommendations and suggestions.

The most important ones were the following: attention should be given to reduce impediments to employ ICT in university education, and to manage these urgently, the necessity to find technological infrastructure in Yemeni University to integrate and employ ICT in higher education.

In addition, the researcher proposed the importance of providing other studies and researches on the impact of the use of certain ICT applications in higher education.
