In the context of religious forces, movements and parties (specifically Islamic) control, on the political scene with a democratic character in Iraq, since its occupation on 9 April ٖٕٓ, the question of religious reform in Iraq returned to the forefront strongly, after the great failure of those forces, movements And parties, in light of the decline in popularity, and facing sting criticism of the people, to the extent accused of wearing the mask of religion to justify the corruption and theft, and also in light of the decline of political participation of voting in the parliamentary elections in May 2ٕٔٓ, according to observers to less than ٖٓ % They are entitled to participate, as well as accusations The rigging that marred the election process.

This on the one hand.

On the other hand, there is not serious signs of issue of religious reform, in order to come up with answers to the question of its relationship with the desired political change, rarely present in the face of major distortions suffered by religious practice in both: formal and popular form in Iraq.

And as we are researchers in sociology of politics must to ask several questions, no doubt the most important: What is meant by religious reform? How do you shape it? What is its relation to the desired political change ? The study consisted of three topics, the first one included the elements of the study (the problem of the study, its objectives and its importance, and the definition of concepts).
