Abstract EN

The maghrebarabic countries faces a critical reality embodied in a linguistic struggle,related to the negligence of classical arabic,the creeping colloquial arabic into the educational and cultural institutions and the media,in addition to the french language which works to rival arabic in the filed of education ( scientific and technical) and soe administrative transactions, and in daily communications among members of the educated class,this article aims at shedding light on the process of language planning pursued by the countries shown to reduce this phenomenon,and concludes with the most important recommendations and suggestions to promote arabic to take the lead in these countries and to restore its prestigious position
