Abstract EN

The study aims to measure both the effect of original sin and passthrough exchange rates in Turkey and Algeria.In particular, the recent crisis has led to a significant devaluation of their exchange rates and has affected their economic performance, thanks to a standard study on the ARDL model for the period 1990- 2018.

The study revealed a complete absence of the impact of Original Sin, as the exchange rate did not affect short and long-term indebtedness in both countries, although of exchange rate pass-through has a significant impact in the short and long term, especially on the Algerian economy.
