Abstract EN

After the conquest of Andalusia by Muslims and their stability there, its rulers became vulnerable to plots which ended up by killing them.

The series of such plots started with the first wali of Andalusia Abdul Aziz Ibn Musa Ibn Nosair ( 95- 97H/ 714- 716 AD) who was the victim of a conspiracy held by the nearest members of his entourage, and it went on during the walis stage and the Umayyad state during its two phases imara and khilafa till the official end of this state in 422H/ 1031AD .

Most of the conspiracies involved the fact that their planners and executors belonged to immediate vicinity of the victim (sons, brothers, uncles, servants, military leaders or others).Some planned to get rid of the ruler to seize his position, while revenge or envy motivated others.

The results of some conspiracies were disastrous on the future of Islam and Muslims in Andalusia, as the conspiracy against Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mansur ibn Abi Amer led to the inclusion of Andalusia in the so-called barbaric strife, which was the beginning of the decline of the authority of Muslims in face of increased Christian tide creeping from the north.
