Energy is the backbone of modern life and the cornerstone of many sectors, and in return, it is the cause of major climate change, the importance of this issue as one of the world's environmental problems, which concern all humanity has pushed human to look for ways to reduce these emissions and then protect the environment and ensure sustainable development which can be measured through a set of indicators, including the environmental footprint, which was used in the beginning and then the carbon footprint specific only to carbon emissions.

and that's what we will try to highlight through this paper, and that by trying to stand up on the concept of ecological footprint of energy in a theory study relying on the descriptive approach.
