Abstract EN

Two vims isolates of broad bean stain comovirus (bbsv) (sv173-85 and sl23-91) and two isolates of pea seed-bome mosaic potyymw(psbmv) (sp9-88 and sl1-92) were compared for their effect on yield and seed transmissibility of two lent.l genotypes ' red chier and ill 4400" (cv Syrian local).

results indicated that sv173-85, sl23-91.

sp9-88 and sl1-92 isolates caused a yield loss of 33, 35.

29 and 88/o in"ill 4400" and 14, 13, 5 and 73% in "red chief, respectively.

sv173-85 and sp9-88 were seed-bome in both genotypes and seed transmission rates were 13.3 and 1 16% in "ell 4400" and 0.3 and 0.1% in "red chief', respectively, whereas sl23-91 was seed-bome in ' ill 4400 only as 11.64%.

however, the psbmv isolate from lentil (sl1-92) was not seed-bome in both genotypes.

"red chief' was more resistant than4400" when inoculated with both viruses and all isolates, and seed transmission rates in "red chief' to all isolates was either very low or none.
