This study aimed to unveil the level of scientific inquiry of female students in Hail University and how it is related of their reflective thinking.
The sample study reached the count of (80) female students from Sameera College, one of the branches of the University of Hail.
The students were stratified randomly selected from all registered to seek a bachelor degree either in Kindergarten Education or Elementary Education during the first semester of the school year 2017/2018.
The study applied both the scientific inquiry and reflective thinking scales (Isaac and Wilson scale).
The results revealed that the level of scientific inquiry, of the female students, was below average in general which also applies to all of its skills.
The results also revealed that differences in students’ levels, using the scale of scientific inquiry as a whole and its skills (use of numbers, deduction reasoning, formulation of hypotheses, and procedural definitions,) has a statistical significance due to the course of study and was in favor of the Elementary Education majors.
On the other hand, skills like (observing, categorizing, measuring, predicting, adjusting variables, and interpretation of data) neither had statistical significance due to the course of study nor to the level of study (third and seventh) with the exceptions of the skill of observing , which was in favor of third level students, and the skills of procedural definitions, which was in favor of seventh level students.
The results also revealed that the sample students possessed high levels of reflective thinking and that there was high positive correlation between the level of scientific inquiry possessed by the students and their level of reflective thinking.
