Abstract EN

Mature males and females of red flour beetles l .

castaneum (Hbst.) were exposed to a sub-lethal concentration (LCjq) of Actellic for 24 hours.

Results showed that the average egg incubation, larval, pupal, pre-oviposition, generation, oviposition and post-oviposition periods were 4.7, 42.1, 8.1, 20.2, 77.2, 154, 6.2 days, respectively.

The corresponding periods in the control treatment were 3.4, 32.4,5.7,7.9,50.1,260.1,16.2 days, castaneum (Hbst.) were exposed to a sub-lethal concentration (LCjq) of Actellic for 24 hours.

Results showed that the average egg incubation, larval, pupal, pre-oviposition, generation, oviposition and post-oviposition periods were 4.7, 42.1, 8.1, 20.2, 77.2, 154, 6.2 days, respectively.

The corresponding periods in the control treatment were 3.4, 32.4,5.7,7.9,50.1,260.1,16.2 days, respectively.

The percentage of egg hatching, number of eggs/female and number of eggs/day were 63%, 114,0.74 and 92%, 254.3,0.97 in both treated and untreated insects, respectively.

The treatment with Actellic, at the concentration level used in this test, prolonged the life cycle of the pest and decreased the number of eggs oviposited by the females.
