Compensation System for natural disasters in Algeria, is an original mechanism combining national solidarity and private insurance, which was established by the Ordonnance of 13 July 1982 on the compensation of victims of natural disasters.

The Algerian legislator has distribute the charge of compensation for such damage between insurance companies and the State, the latter intervenes in this insurance scheme by adopting reinsurance technique
