The concept of transport corridor appears on many meanings that led to the emergence of scientific literature abundant in a variety of disciplines.

Analysis of the literature can lead to the theoretical framework for analyzing case studies, based on the development of a functional classification of corridors and on a multidisciplinary approach to the objectives of the study.

The choice of case studies in Europe and the Middle East allows the corridor idea to be compared with concrete planning topics in different regional contexts.

The aim is to question the scope and limits of this idea in the planning practices of the regions by positioning themselves respectively in different bands.

This multi-purpose project support makes it possible to understand the reality of the gap between the concept and its political and concrete application in the regions.

It also makes it possible to highlight case studies that are elements that allow for a rethinking of the concept of the corridor itself.
