Abstract EN

The present research deals with the character of the prime minister of the Arab Republic of Yemen Mohsin Ahmed al-Aini and his position towards the 1972 war between the two parts of Yemen, and his role in the union negotiations that followed the war during his third round as a prime minister 1971-1972.

The research talks about his birth, early childhood, the beginning of his national work and the positions he occupied after the 1962 revolution.

It also sheds light on al-Aini's position towards the 1972 war between the two parts of Yemen and the efforts he exerted to sign the Cairo agreement with his Southern counterpart in the same year which is considered a basis for the union agreements 1979 and 1990.

Then his resignation after signing it in the end of 1972 and assigning him an ambassador in London 1972-1974.
