Abstract EN

The study aims to identify to what extent there is dualism in cultural values regarding language, religion, customs and traditions among students at Kuwait University.

A descriptive approach was used.

A questionnaire was applied to measure students' dualism on the three dimensions (language, religion, and customs and traditions).

A preliminary study was applied in 1999/2000 among a small sample of 150 students.

It was applied again in 2014/ ٢٠١٥ on a larger sample consisted of 1,166 students to investigate the changes over time regarding the cultural values dualism phenomenon.

The results of the study indicated that there was a dualism on the three dimensions and that language and customs and traditions had a mean of (3.02).

The results also showed statistical differences in favor of females regarding language dimension (< 0.01).

There were also significant differences regarding customs and traditions in favour of female (< 0.05).

There were also statistical differences regarding years of studies and college (< 0.01).

The study recommended a follow up study of cultural dualism phenomenon and holding seminars to raise awareness around this issue.
