The desert place carries a cultural and belief dimension; therefore, the Arab narrators dealt with it deeply and comprehensively, highlighting the essence of the relationship that links man to the desert nature, and since the place is one of the narrative components on which the text is based; this study seeks to reveal its manifestations within the narrative text and search for its symbolism and its implications The novel “Darwish Return to Exile” represents the Tunisian novelist Ibrahim Al Darghouti as a model, through which the creator worked to present a picture of the two types (closed, open) and his cultural and symbolic load, and direct the attention of the recipient towards it, in his endeavor to line the place And He gave him different characteristics from what he had in reality and attracted him to the unfamiliar.
