Abstract EN

The present study aimed to investigate the nature of the correlation between self-disclosure and self-advocacy in a number of labourers students in the preparatory stage.

As well, it sought to examine the significance of the differences between these individuals in each of these two variables that may be attributable to the variable of residence (rural versus urban).

Furthermore, the study sought to investigate the contribution of self-disclosure to the prediction of self-advocacy in this sample.

The study sample consisted of (50) labourers students enrolled in the preparatory stage in Beni Suef governorate, ranging in age from (12 to 14) years.

The instruments of the study included a self-disclosure measure and a selfadvocacy inventory for labourers students in the preparatory stage (both being prepared by the researcher).

The researcher employed the descriptive method of research to answer the research questions of the present study and to verify the validity of the hypotheses.

The results of the study revealed some positive correlation between self-disclosure and self-advocacy in the sample of the study.

These differences between the participants in the study as regards each of the variables at issue were hypothetically attributed to the variable of residence (rural versus urban) were not statistically significant, while self-disclosure was found to contribute reliably to predicting self-advocacy.
