Abstract EN

The research aimed at evaluating the book (Al-Arabiah Lughati / Arabic is my Language), which is assigned for grade four students of basic education, from the viewpoint of educational supervisors and grade four teachers in Damascus.

To achieve the target of the research, the researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach and field study, so he designed a questionnaire including five fields as follows: (Editing the book and its language, the book's objectives, activities and evaluation, The book's content, Teacher's guide, Skills and values) These fields include 42 items.

The researcher did the statistical procedures needed to make sure of the authenticity and stability of the questionnaire.

Then he distributed it among a sample of 41 supervisors and 216 grade four teachers.

The outcomes showed that supervisors and teachers' evaluation of the book was between average and high in most fields, except the suitability of the book's language to the mental levels of pupils as well as the simplicity and clarity of the language used to present information.

At this point, the evaluation was between average and poor.
