This study investigates the rentier economy and its impact on the algerian economy.

This study claims that the adoption of rentier economy which leads to the the rentier economy has many negative effects on Algeria.

The inductive approach was employed to investigate the research argument.

The research found that the features of the rentier economy in Algeria were evident, resulting in the Dutch disease, which led to the redistribution of resources in the economy for non-export sectors.

The effects were not only economic but also political and social.
