Background: Citizen journalism has emerged in the media arena in recent times, it have played a major role in the recent events in Egypt, and it Supplies people what is happening moment by moment, Research study has been concerned in the phenomenon of citizen journalism and to identify the uses of Egyptian youth.

Aims: The study aims to use the Egyptian youth to the phenomenon of citizen journalism on the Internet as a source for news Methods: The researcher conducted a field study through survey method.

Sample: A sample of 400 individual Internet users.

Results: Social networking sites are the most preferred sites for respondents to get news and information on the internet and blogging least important.

Citizen journalism sites have a large proportion of follow- up among the members of the sample relative increased by 55%.

Social networking sites ranked first preference among respondents for citizen journalism sites increased by 89.5%.

Political issues ranked first follow- up of 68.3% among respondents as the most content on the news pursued by members of the sample through citizen journalism.

Materials News topped ranked first preference of 61.5% with respect to more informational materials preferably respondents pursued through citizen journalism sites.

News monitoring network (RNN) came in first place as the most news networks follow- up between members of the sample by 57.8%.

There is a correlation between the size of the respondents exposure to citizen journalism and their direction towards the credibility.
