Abstract EN

This study aimed at revealing the level of readiness of general education teachers in Riyadh city to use digital books in education.

To achieve the goal, the researcher relied on mixed approach, using a questionnaire on a random sample consisting of 200 teachers from general education in Riyadh, and conducting semi-structuredinterviews with a stratified sampling from seven teachers from different specialties.

The results of the study indicated that there are positive attitudes among teachers for using digital books in education, in addition to their technical and educational readiness to use digital books.

The results of the interviews revealed factors that help teachers use digital books, including ease of use, expected benefit, while the factors that hinder the use of digital books in education are poor infrastructure, technical support, knowledge and training, and material and administrative support as well as the design of digital books.
