Abstract EN

This Paper investigates the role of medical institutions in the production and management of medical waste because of the health and environmental hazards caused by the improper management of these wastes, whether at the level of health institutions or outside.

The Algerian health institutions are aware of the need to adopt a sustainable management approach in line with legal frameworks and international standards.

In order to protect the environment and health of individuals and the community affected by bad and traditional methods such as throwing and burning in an improper random manner, in order to minimize the effects of, and ensure the quality of, medical waste in handling, treatment and final disposal.
