Abstract EN

This study seeks to clarify the limits and nature of the relationship between the International Court of Justice as the main judicial organ of the United Nations on the one hand, and the International Convention on the elimination of all forms of Racial discrimination, as it represents one of the most important international conventions in the field of human rights on the other hand.

In this respect, the article 22 of the same agreement demonstrates the theoretical side of the limits of that relationship and the conditions attached to it, whereas some cases which were referred to the court revealed the practical side in interpreting or applying the International Convention on the elimination of All forms of racial discrimination, the last of which was in 2018 between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
