Abstract EN

This study aims to identifying the participation of Jordanian political parties in the parliamentary elections of the Seventeenth House of Representatives in 2013, identifying the constitutional and legal framework governing the work of political parties, and showing the impact of the electoral system on the participation of political parties in the parliamentary elections.

The study found that the legislative framework regulating the work of political parties in Jordan is represented by the Jordanian Constitution of 1952 and its amendments, and the Political Parties Law of 2012, and that the electoral law for the House of Representatives No.

25 of 2012 and its amendment, which used the mixed electoral system which was applied in the parliamentary elections 2013, reflected positively on the participation of political parties in the parliamentary elections and the presence of political currents in the House of Representatives.
