One of the most important issues tackled by applied ethics is the problem of sexual ethics or the moral evaluation of sexual activity because of its complexities and intertwined approaches.

Moreover, there are different views among philosophers regarding the details within each trend.

There are two basic trends governing the overall framework of sexual relations in Western philosophy: first, the conservative trend, represented by St.

Augustine (354--430 CE), St.

Thomas Aquinas (1225 - 1274 CE) and Emmanuel Kant (1724 - 1804 CE); second, the liberal trend, represented by Alan Goldman, Vinecent C.

Punzo, Bertrand Russell (1972-1970 CE), Arving Singer (1925 - 2015 CE), and T.

Nagel (1937- ).

There are numerous and precise details within each trend.

This paper shows that most of these philosophers' opinions on sexual relations greatly agreed with their general philosophical approaches.
