The social dimension of sustainable development emphasizes that man is the essence of development, Its ultimate goal is to pay attention to social justice, combat poverty, and provide employment and services to all those in need, Any human development that goes to improve the standard of living of individuals, create jobs and eliminate inequality among social classes.

Despite the Tunisian authorities' efforts to reduce these social conditions, It remains an obstacle to achieving sustainable development.

Poverty, low standard of living and employment are the biggest social challenges in achieving development plans in Tunisia.
