The Algerian Constitution provides of privileges to the Parliament's to Members in order to enable them to perform their duties freely and independently from other authorities.

These privileges mainly conern the administration and organization of the legislative institution, as well as the rights of the Parliament's Members, such as the right to receive remuneration for their legislative and supervisory functions, in addition to the parliamentary immunity accorded in respect of word spoken and all acts performed by them.

Nevertheless, in order to ensure the parliament's transparency and efficiency, the constitutional founder has placed restrictions on these privileges, in respect of its legitimate and framework, However, there are many deficiencies in the constitution's provision, the organic laws and the internal rules of Parliament, in addition to lack of effective and implementation of these restrictions.
