Abstract EN

The study aims at exploring the linguistic efforts Jar Allah Al-Zamakhshary, one of the most famous influential Arabic linguistic scholars, has exerted in his book 'Tafseer Al-kashaf which is one of the great Arabic linguistic heritage studies.

It investigates Zamakhshary's awareness of the semantic differences, which are regarded as controversial issues in semantics for both the traditional linguists and modern linguists.

It has been found that Zamakhshary's has a great ability in tracing and distinguishing these semantic differences between words that seem to be almost synonyms.

The study also contributes significantly to the studies of semantic differences in particular and to the linguistic field in general.
