Abstract EN

This study focusses on Ibn-Malik’s corrections of the opinions the grammarian wrongly attributed to Sebaweeh.

It answers the question: to what extent was .Ibn-Malik right in rejecting the attribution of these opinions to Sebaweeh.

Consequently, the study presents all these opinions, Ibn-Malik’s comments on them and the extent of the soundness of Ibn-Malik’s arguments.

The number of the issues Ibn-Malik corrected and commented on is twenty.

It has been found that Ibn-Malik is right in his corrections of seven issues or opinions but he was not so in three.

The study shows that two of these three opinions are really attributed to Sebaweeh and the third one is referred to by Sebaweeh in two ways.

The methodology Ibn-Malik employed in proving Sebaweeh's opinions is to quote what he stated in his book Al-Kitaan, gathering his scattered speech, deduction, using examples from poetry and prose and even using the same arguments used by other grammarians to explain Sebaweeh's views as stated in his book Al-Kitaab
