This study tackles the morphologists' confusion regarding sound and weak verbs hoping that this will help students to overcome such confusion.

This morphologists' confusion is not only related to the definition of these verbs but also related to their types, names and patterns.

The study investigates the categorization of the sound and weak verbs provided by modern morphologists.

The researchers came to the conclusion that this modern categorization created more confusion confirming that the other categorizations of these verbs should be the subject for further future research studies so as to find a categorization that avoids confusion to replace this one used in the modern morphological studies.
