أثر السياسة المالية و النقدية في العدالة الاجتماعية في اليمن خلال المدة 1995-2012

Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to introduce and analyze the level of social inequality in Yemen in the period of study and to investigate the factors affecting it, particularly the fiscal and financial policies.

It is hypothesized that these policies will have a relatively positive affect in the stage that comes before structural adjustment and will have a high negative affect in the structural adjustment stage.

One of the most important findings of the study is the increase of inequality level through time.

The statistical analyses and tests proved that this hypothesis is true.

The Gini coefficient of income and expenditure increased from low level of inequality to a higher level and the total poverty level sharply increased .The per capita of income for the poorer group decreased to 20% and it increased for the richer group to 20%.

The statistical tests confirmed the decrease of the positive affect of these policies due to the inequality for every square the per capita from GDP, the government sector share of employment, the percentage of social remittance of GDP and inflation.

The study shows that following this deflation policy and the weak social protection network will aggravate inequality through the time.

The study recommended adopting new development strategies to create economic and social balance and to overcome distribution problem through following a financial and fiscal policy that consolidate the social dimension of development to improve population capital and to bridge the gap between the poor and the rich.
