Abstract EN

This study aimed at finding out the relationship between achievement motivation and self-esteem based on the descriptive method using correlative style.

The samples of study consisted of (127) students studying at Women's College, Hadhramout University.

Two scales have been used to achieve the objectives of the study.

These scales include the scale of achievement motivation, which was constructed by the researcher, and the scale of self-esteem constructed by Al-Draini and Salama (1983) who conducted a similar study in the Qatari environment.

This latter scale has been adapted to the environment of the current study.

Besides, the researcher also used SPSS in the statistical treatment of her data to achieve the objectives of the study.

The study revealed that there is a positive relationship between motivation for achievement and selfesteem among the students which was (0.290) at the level of (0.01).

The study recommended strengthening the feeling of self-esteem among the students when dealing with them.

In addition, the study suggested conducting seminars as well as correlative studies concerning achievement motivation to reveal other factors that contribute to improving the achievement motivation.
