Abstract EN

This research investigates the values of citizenship in the curriculum of the high institutes for preparing teachers in the Republic of Yemen in the light of the official law.

To achieve this objective, the two researchers employed the descriptive method and content analysis.

They analyzed the content of the official law (the institution, general law of education).Then they analyzed the vocational and cultural subjects in that curriculum.

They found out that the official law (institution and General law of education) included some of the citizenship values related to the rights and duties, they are political, economic, social, cultural, civil and personal values.

Regarding the rights, it has been found that the social values have the highest percentage in this curriculum then comes the economic values, the personal and civil values and the cultural values.

The political values has the lowest values.

With reference to the duties, it has been found that the civil and personal duties have the highest frequency and percentage in the curriculum then comes the social duties, the cultural duties and the economic duties.

The political duties have the lowest frequency in this curriculum.

The study provided suggestions and recommendations.
