Abstract EN

This paper aims to examine the extent of the transformation that has occured in the structure of the international system, and on the position of the U.S.A as a dominant pole ; also , knowing the impact of the Covid – 19 pandemic on the power of states and on the concept of power as a whole, and it’s implications on the continuity or the change in the structure of the international system ; the study concluded that the Covid – 19 pandemic is an important event in the history of international relations, that would lead to a change in the concept of power, and in the distribution of the elements of power between states; so, the pandemic has strengthened the existing debate about the structure of the international system, and it revealed the decline of the leadership role of the U.S.A as a superpower, at a time when China and Russia seek to exploit the pandemic and turn it into a diplomatic tool to implement their policy agenda aimed at changing the structure of the international system.
