Abstract EN

The aim of this research was to identify the level of listening with understanding and sympathy of the educational counselors in the General Directorate of Education at Diyala and the difference in the level of listening with understanding and sympathy according to variables of gender, social status and duration of service.

The sample of the research was limited to the educational counselors in Diyala Governorate (260 male and female Counselor).

After applying the research tool on the research sample, the researcher found that the research sample enjoys a high level of listening with understanding and sympathy.

There is no significant difference between the educational counselors according to variables of gender and length of service.

There are no statistically significant differences depending on the social situation, except the difference in the relationship depending on the social situation (married - divorced) and (single - divorced).

The research came out with some recommendations and suggestions.
