Abstract EN

This paper shows how the development of digital financial services drive to a digital approach to financial inclusion, and how the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the urgency to develop the digital financial services in Algeria, using analysis of the evolution of digital financial transactions data during the pandemic.

It highlights the most important challenges facing improving digital financial inclusion in Algeria, such as expand the digital financial services infrastructure ecosystem, strengthen digital and financial literacy, and pressure-groups resistance.

The study concludes that the development of digital financial services must be achieved through a national digital financial inclusion strategy with a clear vision and a concrete action plan.
