The academic leadership is deemed the most crucial element in developing and instructing employees as well as the institutional upgrading.

For this reason, the idea of the effectiveness of leading power on NU teaching staff performance has been emerged in order to recognize their leading power effectiveness.

This study has been carried out to (411) teaching staff, both men and women, using the descriptive analytical approach.

One of the most important findings of this study was that the five leading power styles (regular, personal influence, experience, motivation, accounting) significantly affected the teaching staff performance.

In addition, the most influential style was the power personal influence followed by the power of experience, then the systemic power, the motivation power, and finally the accounting factor.

The most important recommendations obtained by this study were: (a)the need for verities in the use of leading power styles as per the situation requirements, (b)the necessity for elegant human behavior with the teaching staff, (c)the need for applying academic systems at the universities, (d) the academic leaders must be good examples regarding to thought and behavior.

The study has suggested carrying out many studies concerning the effectiveness of leading power in employees’ performance as well the relationship between leading power styles with the overall quality and organizational commitment and the knowledge economy.
