Abstract EN

The current study analyzes geographically the characteristics of Hadhramout population and their influence on sustainable human development.

An important fact related to the development planning is that population characteristics have their impact on policy making and success of development plans and programs, consequently developing these demographic, social and economic characteristics is a maim development requirement.

The researcher employed many methods and techniques such as the inductive method, analysis of differences, population census for the years 1994, 2004 and survey of labour forces and to achieve this a statistical analysis was used along with Excel programs to draw figures.

The study findings show that Hadhramout population characteristics have so many problems that affect negatively sustainable development.
