Academic interest increased with new issues, such as development issues in all dimensions to measure their usefulness in achieving security, in the context of the existence of many perceptions that confirm the existence of a great correlation between the concepts of security and development.

ASEAN countries have adopted a development strategy that has enabled them to achieve significant economic successes, which has made the economic interests of these States interconnected and mutually influential in the uncertain security environment.

Accordingly, this research paper will try to examine the feasibility of the economic development approach adopted by by the countries of Southeast Asia in the face of various security threats, and its role in enhancing security and stability in the region based on the level of security awareness of ASEAN (economic approach).
