This study tries to define one of the Islamic cities whose radiance exceeded the Islamic world, which is the metropolis of Fez - the first political capital of the Al-Aqsa Maghreb - through the historical events that it has witnessed since its inception, during which it has known variables and transformations that are all linked to political developments, whether within the Far Maghreb or Morocco The Islamic world and even the Islamic world, all this made this city a destination for many tribes and peoples to settle in, and this was reflected in its urban pattern in a prominent way, which contributed to attracting many scholars and scholars to it over the historical periods, to become the first metropolis of the countries of the Far Maghreb, and therefore it represents a history This city is equivalent to the history of countries alone, all of which made it attract the attention of many researchers and historians for the richness of its fields of research.
