Between 1927 and 1930, the political, economic, social and even cultural situations in Algeria had known significant transformations, from the political movement that Algeria had known, to the deterioration of the economic situation due to the French economic policy and to the global depression that hit the world in 1929.

In addition, the increasing social tensions within the Algerian community that French reports itself have long highlighted.

The cultural life had known vitality in terms of its activity as a result of the emergence of a number of cultural clubs, and the efforts of reformist scholars, etc..

This period may constitute in the eyes of the researcher on the topic one of the most indicative periods of the nature of French colonial policy in Algeria, as it was on the date of the centenary of the occupation.

The centenary was an important occasion for the French side to highlight the success of its colonial message, and the extent of the cohesion between the European settler and the Algerian indigenous.
