منهج البحث العلمي عند العلماء المسلمين في القرن الثاني الهجري : تعالق علمي الكيمياء و النحو بين جابر بن حيان و سيبويه أنموذجا

Abstract EN

This research is based on the hypothesis that early Muslim scholars in the different fields of knowledge had used one similar research methodology.

The similarity of research methodology appears in the overall essence of their research, philosophy, processing and analyzing data, and inducing—with a slight margin of privacy of each field of knowledge.

This research uses historical and analytical approaches to explain the extent to which early Muslim scholars used similar methodology in their research—Jabir Bin Hayyan (an Alchemist) and Sibawayh (the well-known Linguist).

It looks closely at the similarities as it appears in the former's manuscripts and the latter's book.

This study focuses on these two scholars because of their importance since both had influenced the Muslim scholars in science and humanities.

They are also considered two of the pioneers in research in the Muslim culture in the second century AH.

They are also well known for their well-established scholarship and research methods.

This study concludes that the research methodologies used by the aforementioned scholars are one and the same giving the slight margin of each field of knowledge in the following areas: observing, hearing, making hypotheses, inducing, and measuring.

The linguistic style of research also seems similar since Arabic language was the medium of delivering their research.
