Roman Emperors fortified The City of Dara in The Sixth Century AD.

, which located on the Eastern border between the Roman and the Persians, the Fortifications have been made in two Stages, First in the reign of the Emperor Anastasius1(491-518), The Second in the reign of the Emperor Justinian (527-565).

The Fortifications process has gone through several steps, beginning of City planning by Roman Engineers Until completion
of the work, The Historical Sources provide us information about the Fortifications of the City of Dara, that supported by recent archaeological discoveries, which conducted on the archaeological remains of the City, will be illustrated by this study that the City of Dara included all the necessary ingredients for fortresses and military cities, walls, towers, castles, trenches, cisterns, bathrooms, churches, as well as Puplic buildings, until it became a model for planning militaty cities, and represent the military architecture of that era.
